Who makes Margin
Margin is an independent, self-funded writing business founded in Glasgow, Scotland, on 20 September 2026. Our aim is to make tools that help people think more deeply and find their own words.
Margin is operated by Eric Anthony, a UK sole trader trading as Margin. The iPhone and iPad app is listed on the App Store as Margin – Notes, with Eric Anthony as the seller. This website, thinkmargin.co.uk, is its official home.
How it was made
Claude Code helped Eric develop and test the native iPhone and iPad app, with Eric directing the work and making the product decisions. Building with AI is part of Margin's story: using it thoughtfully to create a space where people keep authorship of their own writing.
Margin's current writing and question features work on your device, using Apple Intelligence when available and built-in rules otherwise. Read the privacy policy for details about the current app and this website.

We're planning more powerful, optional cloud features for deeper reflection and fresh connections. Daydream is one idea: a deliberate invitation to explore your writing from another angle, while keeping the words your own.
These features are planned, not yet available. They would be opt-in, with a clear explanation of what is shared and how it is used before you choose to try them.
Mind the Margin
Mind the Margin, published under the pen name E. C. Caudex, was written with Claude under human direction. It explores the experience of building Margin with AI and the question at the heart of the project: how can technology help us create while keeping our own voice?
